Well after being here for years and going through about 5 versions of car pc's I've finally got around to showing you all my work. The main reason for this is because I've finally got a digital camera.

I suppose you are mostly for the mp3 music with your install... the position of screen is not comfortable for anything else I guess... correct me if I'm wrong...

johne5 has a great install, not sure if there are pics here but ive seen it in person many times. it looks great. he has a single cab so all the computer stuff is under the seat.

looks good, but that screen is going to be really hard to use down in that position. something you may want to think about in a V2 if you find it to be uncomfortable for yourself... to each their own.

Do you have any way for it to vent out all the heat from under the center console?

I guess it looks ok. It would be hard to read while dirving though.

I've had the screen facing me in two other builds and to be honest it was kind of a pain to drive with at night. The back light on the LCD is just too bright, I wound up turning it off most of the time anyways. I also wanted to keep the OEM look and radio. I've had too many new vehicles with gaping holes in the dash for months or no radio while I was adjusting something on the system.

It's not hard at all to view even for navigation. I think the industry is going to get away from LCD's and move towards more of a non-gui interactive system. Via voice commands and verbal prompts.
