I just finished up my first carputer install. I'm reallly happy with the results, other than the fact Streetdeck sucks. Here are some pictures.
First the car..
Dash before it was cut
No turning back now..
Add fibergalss and 1/4" plywood
Finished bezel
Computer in the trunk
And it works...

Outstanding!!!, for a Honda that is (routine Mazda knock on Honda's... LOL), just joking.
Very nice work and I'm sure a bit nerve racking making that first cut into the dash. You must know your way around puters quite well for all of this? I bet it's real nice not to need a laptop on the passenger seat for the AEM EMS. That was one of the biggest motivators for me opting to go the CarPC route myself. Although my Megasquirt doesn't come close to the graphics that AEM has, it sure will be an added bonus having it run in the background and not needing a laptop flopping around on the passenger seat when I'm at the track.
Question though - did you not incorporate a slotdrive anywhere up front near the dash or are you retaining the former HU that was located below the TS?
At any rate, an excellent job and a bit of an inspiration for me hoping that everything will work the first time it's all plugged in since you sounded a little amazed that yours did. Very nice!!

Looks great. I could almost swear it's stock. So have you eliminated the HU or just moved it?

If you look at the picture of the finished bezel, you'll see a slot load DVD player and a USB hub where the stock HU wasThere is no HU in the car.

NICE!!! I've been thinking about getting an S2000 but the lack of a good place to put the screen has been a huge drawback (I won't go back to being without a PC in the car). I'm sold now!
OMFG you cut the dash!
bezel you made looks amazing and you got guts but...I would have disgused the screen a bit better by going in tighter around the visable part and covering as much of the stock screen bezel as possible.
which screen is it? 8" widescreen?
great install - big thumbs up.
Fack!
And you installed a turbo too...yikes...![]()
