the housing itself would say HID somewhere if not, most of the upper half of the lens should be somewhat opaque

the engine are the same so if the trany and the ecu is swaped it all bolts up. should not run more the 2k for junk yard parts
just the ecu has to be taken to a dealer to have it reproframed for that car

i hope your right, and you might get lucky in the fact that your are going to a manual and not vice versa,i'm not sure if the manual tranny has a TCM or not but make sure you buy that too if it does have one.

Not as easy as A replace with B and C replace with D.
ECU, Trans controller, harness, ....
There are many people trying to swap auto to manul from the supra and proven to be a big challenge.
Yes, it is doable. It's just the mater finding time and franklin to help you out. Sometime, it's more economy and effective to sell the I30 and get the Max.

I302K why dont you look on ebay or search using google to find the trans for 2000 cefiro "this is the same as I30 in canada." The only difference is some of them come with 5 speed MT. In this case you wont need to change the ECU. This has been done before except that it was done on a 99 I30 which is very similar to your I30.

No, to be HID compatible, you either have to have a reflector based housing made for HID or you have to retrofit in a projector thats made to take D2S capsules. Most of those aftermarket projectors which take H3 bulbs produce HORRIBLE beam patterns and the light output sucks. You might be better off retrofitting in some xenon projectors into your low beam headlight housing.
