revamped case internals and power connector
Getting sick and tired of my previous setup that involved using a screw-down terminal for the various power wires that came in and out of my case, I invested in some 9 pin molex connectors, some pins, and a molex crimper. The end result was this on the outside:
and this on the inside of the case:
Another added bonus to this connector system is the ablity to bring it into the house and plug it in using another male connnector that I have wired to the external 12v psu that came with the case's original power supply. This makes it really easy to do major software tweaks, etc if need be.
I also cleaned up my wiring a bit including rewiring the power wires, the ide cable, and some other random wires; as well as adding a blower fan in the empty pci slot:
Further improving the cooling inside of the case, I rigged up a fan above my M1-atx using a hacked up pci slot blank:
Lastly, I added a little bit of lighting to the inside of the case with a little led light. took off the molex passthrough setup that came with it and wired it directly to the psu wiring harness:
And here's a shot of the outside of the case:
I don't have any pictures of it installed atm, the setup that I had before worked fine, but I'm not 100% happy with it. It was screwed down to a shelf located below the 6x9s in my grand am; the shelf could swing down on a piano hinge (located near the back seats) allowing easy access, but I don't quite trust the brackets that I had setup to hold the shelf in the upright position.
