My Install - 2006 Altima

Well, after installing my carpc and getting rid of the stock cd player/radio...the first thing i started to miss immediatly was my volume control...
so, i came up with an idea and here are the pictures....i have used a viewsonic viewmate desktop keyboard....and only used the volume control from it which is dual function - volume control and Mute (by pressing it)....
the software which comes with the keyboard have OSD which was a plus in carpc.

By this do you also mean that its daylight-viewable so that no such transreflective upgrade is needed like with the current 7 and 8" monitors on the market?

yes, it is a daylight viewable (provided that you dont use reflective touchscreens) with a very heavy anti-reflective layer on it...
i have removed my touchscreen for now becuase it was reflecting a lot and nothing was visible in the sun when its direct on the screen. after removing the touchscreen its 100% visible even with a direct sunlight on the lcd screen.

DUDE! That volume control is beautiful!!!

Just like you, right after I actually started to USE my carputer for day to day use, I realized how much I missed the volume knob. And that one looks great, especially since you push the button to mute all together! (I really like that)

Where did you get the keyboard, and how much was it?

Thanks !...there is a lot more to come on this project.

I have bought this keyboard from Frys (@ Plano Pkwy)....it was arround $45 when i have bought it few months ago. its a combo (keyboard & mouse).

You dirty *****!! Thats bad ***... I miss the volume knob too and that one w/ the mute is just stock w/ your setup. Great intergration!!! I cant wait to see more.
