It'd be nice if you can order the iDrive dash without the iDrive for people that want to custom mod their car...

trust me, if you have to spend a little more, or even wait a little extra time, it will make such a huge difference it'll be well worth it....

you think a 5" screen is big enough?

I also like how the oqo has a docking cable, that i could more easily integrate into the car... a single plug when i want to remove the oqo from my car.

5" is a bit small... not too bad with a frontend running & a good screen I guess, but a bare minimum I would say.... 6.4"-7" has to be the ideal target in these types of machines, but I think a 5" might be ok.... a lot depends where it will actually be mounted also... I'd rather have a 5" transflective than a 7" "wash me out" screen any day...

Do you have your heart set on a UMPC? Look at the Fujitsu P1510 Tablet PC, it might work plus it would be more useful out of the car. It may be too big with its 8.9" screen though. There's a port replicator/dock for it as well.

Newegg has them for around $1200.

I am not really a big fan of the new 3 series, specially the dash. I find the dash design quite boring and flat. All previous BMWs even in the previous 5 series, the dash were contoured around the driver but now it feels like I am sitting behind my dining table. so flat and dull.

I also believe that the exterior of the car specially the front, despite the intended aggressive, mean design it rather falls on the goofy side; very unbalanced. if you look at he famous BMW kidney bean grills, You noticed that the only top edge has the chrom frame, it is looks too unbalaned for me.

It will be a long time before this baby grows on me.

I dont like the new styling of the 3 series sedan, but I LOVE the coupe... IMHO the coupe looks 10x better than the sedan, and doesnt have the goofy stuff you mentioned... check out the coupe

BTW... I have decided to wait for the new OQO with transflective screen
