No but the 335i is bit lardy at 1600kg and mines not... 1280kg making power to weight ratio much better

Im am only just slightly off the pace of an E46 M3 so I recon I could pass a 335i pretty well

And a 335i is NOT 340bhp at the wheels! Its 306bhp at the flywheel!

    From letstorquebhp.com
Projected performace figures for mine based on 275bhp at the fly

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 275
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1280
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 218.29
    0 - 60 (Secs) : 5.13
    0 - 100 (Secs) : 12.456
    0 - 100 (Secs) : 7.33
    Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.45
    Terminal Speed (MPH) : 103.93
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.35
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 105.12

And for a 335i with 306bhp @ fly (according to BMW)

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 306
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1600
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 194.32
    0 - 60 (Secs) : 5.63
    0 - 100 (Secs) : 13.466
    0 - 100 (Secs) : 7.83
    Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.93
    Terminal Speed (MPH) : 101.72
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.83
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 102.87

So there you have it... Im quicker (granted not by much) And those figures are pretty accurate to BMW's own claimed figures... And we both have same sized wheels & tyres so traction should be similar too.

First off, 340hp at the wheels was with new ECU software(search XEDE), stock is 280hp at the wheels, 330 at the crank (as proven by dyno). the e46 m3 and the new 335i have the same peak horsepower at the wheels on a dyno. BMW underrated the 335i. FACT. google it if you want, you will see.

A stock 335i does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, this is proven, many times over, magazines, track slips, Gtech times, everthing... I came from a 300 hp g35, and this 335i will smoke my old g35, it gets 300 lbs of torque at 1400 RPM!!! those turbos really kick ya. I have personally Gtech timed my car at 0-60 in 4.8.

Not to burst your bubble, and I am definatly not trying to pull a "my car is faster than yours"... if you want to beleive that yours is faster, thats fine. But the 335i is every bit as fast as the e46 m3... think about it... the old e36 (1992-1999) m3 had 240HP, then the e46 328i came out in 2000, and the plain old 3 series had the SAME power output as the old style m3. This is simply a repeat of the past...

all I can say is, look out for the 2008 m3!!

no more jacking my thread to talk about how your car compares to my car, blah blah... go race numbers somewhere else....

BTW... I have some parts on Order (backorder!!! GRRR) and will be doing a "removable" install, because of the nature of the UMPC. Any fabrication will probably hacking up the docking station for the UMPC.

Nothing like my last project as far as fabrication goes...

    here is my dash...

Here is how it clips on...

As of now.. passenger side middle vent will be closed, and the UMPC dock will be cleanly attached, angled towards the driver.

As flat as that dash looks,it would pretty easy to make a pod to put the screen in. In my old Range Rover, I attached it to the dash with double sided tape and it looked pretty stock. The pod wasnt for a PC, but for a portable 7" touchscreen GPS. It was covered in spray on bedliner like my Explorer's dash. I wish I had some pictures because my description would make alot more sense.

I know exactly what you are talking about... I will definatly give it a shot

No way in hell I am hacking up the dashboard of my new $50k car... a "pod" sounds like a good alternative
