Where'd you put the computer itself? I put mine behind the screen.. bolted it right in where the stock radio was...

Same place. I followed your install as I was prepping mine. My last-second case was designed after seeing how you mounted yours. I must say your install was probably the biggest help to me.

    I'm inspired!

I was talking to a friend who own a custom sound shop about installing a computer in my minivan. You're intall is quite an inspiration.

I wanna go for a regular PC 19 lcd widescreen on the roof and in the near future, a 7 inch screen for the dashboard and start the system from a motherboard like the one you're using.

I'd appreciate if you can keep us posted as to your progress, successes and eventual mistakes, so we can learn from it.

    Congrtulations for the job!

Glad it helped you out.... I'm jealous of your screen though. The Xenarc screen casing looks so much better then the lilliput.

What did you do for sound? Are you running off the onboard sound or are you using an other soundcard?

Sounds awesome man I wish you the best with it. I'll try to keep this thread updated, but often forget things like that and pics. I used to be real good about documenting my projects, but these days my mind must be slipping or something.

The xenarc was a damn tight fit, I'll say that. Even more so on the new bezel i'm working on. This time around I've added a slot in the bezel just above the screen for the DVD drive. The drive itself will be behind the bezel, you won't see the DVD drive's bezel at all. Basically I had to move the screen down a 1/2". This makes it really interesting around the buttons for the fogs, traction control, and defroster. I'm still not sure i'm gonna like the outcome for this very reason. I think it's going to take away from the factory-esque look. That and it's not going to look well thought out because of how it looks around those buttons. I am toying with the idea of moving those buttons down to the shifter bezel though. I'll see how it turns out leaving the buttons where they are first and go from there.

As far as the sound, right now I'm running off the onboard sound. I'm using stock speakers and all still so I saw no reason to go crazy just yet. I'd venture to say the sound quality i'm getting now is as good as what I was getting from the factory head unit. I'm not yet convinced that a better soundcard will improve much while still using the rest of the factory system. If the speakers and amps were upgraded, i'd be more inclined to get a soundcard, but for now it does the job.

This is a nice install. Your screen looks like it was like that from factory. Keep us posted.

I noticed you said you wanted USB ports; I might be able to help. I did these for my 95 Mustang, and I'm pretty sure your's has a coin holder near the shifter. Well this would replace that to make it look factory-ish.
