I guess I just don't care. I saw my RX-7 on other peoples sites when I had it.

Regardless -- seems like we are perpetuating stupidity. But I will defer. Its not my problem, just seems like there are real things to address from people who want help from people as experienced and available as you.

    Im done with this thread.

Seeing your car on another site, is one thing but you spending time, money, and effort, to make your car look better, go faster, adding your unique touches to it, then finding out someone has done exactly the same thing not out of their own accord, but by stealing all your plans and without asking.. well... that's just rude and deserves some letting out on a thread.

I too would like to hear comments from JustinWebb with regards to copying/ripping off Enforcers website...

    AND those spurious BHP claims

300bhp with no supercharger or turbo, or even Nitrous... DREAM ON!

    Meh,

i don't see anything wrong with someone copying your ideas for a modification on a car.
    Like the old cliche:

"Immitation is the cincerest form of flattery"

But, to pass it off as your own idea is not cool.

Now, ripping off a website to the extent that was done here, that's tantamount to plagerism.

    just remember:
I'm talking about immitation (copying something but not exactly or passing it off as your own, in other words giving credit to the original creator) and plagerism (relabling someone else's work and passing it off as your own). One is Ok (mostly), the other is not.

    Play nice now.

    BJ

I appreciate the flattery, assuming it wasn't a sarcastic dig. (I don't think it was)
However, as a moderator, I have to deal with this ****. It's part of the job, really.

And yeah, we're possibly perpetuating the stupidity. I think it's more bringing the stupidity to the forefront so that other people who aim to engage in similar stupidity will see how we react to it. My hope is that it would sway someone away from doing something equally as stupid.

I 100% agree. If someone wants to use your hard work as an example (whether it be photos of your car or the layout of your website or something you fabricated), it's common courtesy to at least ask permission and approval beforehand.

I seriously doubt you'll hear from JustinWebb, at least publicly. He might PM you. He does visit the forums still, but hasn't posted publicly since February.

There are so few original ideas in vehicle customization that it's damn near impossible NOT to copy someone else's idea(s), either intentionally or not...

But I agree. It's obvious that justinwebb copied Enforcer's website lock, stock and barrel and replaced some content with his own. He was also a lazy-*** about it and left some pretty obvious traces to the original site (the PayPal donation link, the Email link at the bottom of the page, the Confusious quotes, et al.).
It's one thing to be sneaky. It's another entirely to try to be sneaky and **** it up in the process, as this guy did.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
