That's due in Wednesday and already have my Lilliput 7" which I need to make a bezel for. I have a 7" LCD with bezel now in the car, so basically duplicate that one for the new one and sell the old one as a whole. :)
Centrafuse front end and debating on Opus 320w or DSATX 220w power supply. I want a DSATX, but don't want to cut myself short. Both I still need and a GPS antenna. :)
That would be a good spot! But I'm afraid I'd be in the same situation as if I put it in the hatch with not much venting. When it comes in, I'll "see" if it'll fit in the glove box and if so I'll do that with it being my best bet and I never use it anyways. Choices!! :)
I've practically disected these cars so I know all the hidden areas. No, I don't smuggle drugs. Unfortunately most are not sealed from the elements. There is room around the sail panel speakers, but it would require some metal cutting. How hidden did you want it? Maybe I could think of something
looks good, now its time for a hurst comp plus shifter... those stock shifters are terrible(especially the non-factory hursts) i dunno how u still have it!
Oh, I just realized who you are from the LS1tech forum. I noticed your post count and said Damn, it should be way higher than that. He's no newb. :) Ah, then I realized were at the MP3car forum.
Anyway, if your going to run a LCD monitor in the radio location, like most do, then you will have a lot of empty space behind the screen. The climate controls are real short and don't take up much room. I've seen guys fit the whole mobo, PSU and HDD in there. The PSU was removed from it's metal case to save space. Have you thought about that location?
You could definetely put half the parts in the glovebox and the rest behind the screen.
Did you see all the other cars in the F-body thread? The link is in my sig.
Oh yeah, I've researched the hell out of this stuff for the past year and only in the past 2 months actually been serious about doing it. I have everything now but the power supply, still kicking the DSATX 220 or the Opus 320.. Will boot up the computer tonight and let it burn in while I wait on my GPS antenna to come in, calibrate the lilliput and see how it will all operate. Then bezel time, made one for a 7" before so it'll be a little easier. :)
That's what I was thinking on the computer, it's a micro-ATX board so it's not really tiny but it MAY fit in the glove box, then I was thinking of putting the PSU and HDD behind the screen. Or fit the HDD in the glove box because I think I could mount it vertial easier. My other option was to build a little enclosure that would fit between the tracks of the driver's seat and go under it to hide it. I'd rather glove box as I could use the A/C to keep it cooler and everything would be right there. :) Gotta kick some ideas around, still got a week or so before I install it while I make the bezel and get the PSU here. :)
