96 Lexus SC400 Install

The top picture shows the monitor and how it was installed into the factory radio's cage. I disassembled the broken factory radio and embedded the monitor into it. Came out OK for a first time. Others show it installed in my car.

I did put the computer in. It isn't totally mounted yet (i'm going to construct a mount from plywood. I'm using the spot the cd changer was mounted to. Here's a pic so far. I have a carnetix power supply from mp3car.com and it powers the computer and lcd. It's mounted behind the trim panel on the driver's side whereas the computer is on the passenger side. No wires dangling. The usb soundblaster is mounted over the wheel well behind the trim as well.

Here's some more pix of my project. Still need to add gps, but it is pretty much done. Cleaned up the trunk and mounted computer behind the partition in the trunk.

Here's a picture of the screen complements of JohnWPB. Very nice graphics (I removed the clock and replaced it with a lexus logo I created in adobe photoshop 7. . .didn't need the clock, already have one in my car). Nice, fast skin. Its called BlueDevil and is used with roadrunner.

BTW, notice the line on the screen above the Lexus symbol. My radar detector fell off my window and scratched the screen. Actually it gashed it. Seems to work well still, but made me sick after all the work I put into it. The radar detector is now mounted below the mirror with a strap that goes through its bracket in case it somehow falls off the window again. That way it will hang from the mirror.

Here's how my 2nd try on my center console...
1st try had it mounted where you have it now, back seat passengers had the "dildomatic" shifter blocking their view.

2nd try, relocated A/C unit down below and molded the screen up top, I like it a lot, my 3rd version might move the screen up even further to allow a slot load dvd below the screen.
