    Sizing!

Here it is in the car. I built up some areas around where the console touches dash, so I wanta make sure those fit (they dont). So I will remove it and use the dremel tool.

    More in car....

Another shot of the console in the car. I will dremel the left side where it hits the dash. It will be covered with carpet anyway, so this cut is just to make it fit the dash.

    Another shot...

Notice how the left side is higher than the right. I have already trimmed that down and it looks nice and fits perfect.

    Thumbs up

Hey man, thats looking real clean. I look forward to seeing your weekend updates, the mod is comin along very nicely. What are you going to do with the stock radio in the dash? Are you going to leave that alone or is that where youre going to put in the monitor? If you said what you were planning on doing with that earlier sorry I mush have missed it. Alright man, looking really nice, good luck, see ya next weekend haha.

Are you putting a PC in this install? or just a stereo system. Looks good so far. Read up on the carpet steps before you install it. Your design is going to make it real hard to put the carpet in.
Um, I guess this is where you put something witty.WITTY

    PLans...

Thanks all for your kind comments.
The "radio" in the dash was a recent install. It is also and MP3 player, DVD player and has a TV Tuner. I will connect the video out of that into the "composite" connectors into the 8 inch TS LCD. The LCD will mount between the HVAC controls and the radio on a bracket I bought (paid way too much for) from ProClip.
The laptop PC will mount inside the large compartment of the console. I have created a small area where the laptop can slide into and stay snug with a port replicator mounted in the console. It will also be wired into the LCD via USB (for touchscreen) and VGA. I will purchase a small 15W power conidtioner to get clean power into the LCD. I will mount another 25Amp power conditioner inside the console for 12VDC for everything else. The top radio slot in the console will get a 2 meter Kenwood TM-241 radio and the botom slot with get a BTC7 scanner.
Thats my plan so far. I am sure I will have to modify something to make it all work together.
    Carpet:
The console "sides" will get covered in carpet, along with the inside of the compartment and the top of the compartment door. Everything on the "top" will be gloss black. On each of the 3 "facia's" that are removeable, I will mount small black "equipment rack handles" on each side. Kinda going for that "mechanised" look.
I hope that gives everyone a better visual on my plans going forward.

    Update...

Just so you dont think I have abandoned this project I thought I would post a pic or 2. The radio's are mounted for fit as well as the cup holders...
I think I have all the paint on but I might want to clearcoat it before carpet. I got the carpet in but honestly, I am scared to put it on. I have never done the carpet and dont wanta screw the box up.
Anyway, here is a pic. Let me know what you think so far. Any ideas or recommedations are welcome.
