    ProjectZMC is now HIGHTECHZ.

What is coming is what I have been setting up all week. Perks of having a mother with too much money and no patience for computers is a practically new hand-me-down. Her OS crashed and she just went ahead and bought a new one. New OS and it was good to go. Here are the stats:

Dell Pentium 4 2.4ghz, GeForce Graphics, 256 mb ram, 40 gig HD (more than enough for my mp3's).

In the mail: 1 gig ram, 220 watt DC-DC converter with startup/shutdown controller, new USB GPS antenna, new USB bluetooth and wi-fi cards, keyboard/trackball combo, nifty 4-port USB hub.

I was using an internal wi-fi card and the usb was hooked in the back. Problem was it couldn't get a strong signal through the metal. So in the cubby will go the 4-port USB hub, and bluetooth and wi-fi adapters.

For gps, I was using the MS streets and trips antenna, which worked half the time. When it worked, it was ok, but I also didn't care for the blue light from it out in the open. My car draws enough attention.

FINALLY THERE WILL BE AUTO STARTUP AND SHUTDOWN

Manually pressing the button is a pain. I am really looking forward to getting it all in this weekend. And I have spent this last week working out all the software quirks in the old system. More photos to follow, probably on Monday.

Thanks all for the good words.

I am going to try out the onboard sound on the new motherboard untill it bugs me enough to want to replace it (still on a budget also). I can live without fade for a little while.

But I think I like the Turtle Beach Montego. It is not too much, full surround out so I can run full fade and a center channel if I want, and my setup is pretty easy to switch out. I have extra low output amps I can use for the center, just have to find a good speaker for it (and a place to put it that doesn't look like butt).

Since that back storage where you have the computer the door comes up and covers the fan. I recommend putting holes in the cover or one big hole and get a grate to put over it so it'll allow better air transfer with that closed.

By the way, I love your car! May I steal? XD. Zs are my 2nd favorite car out there only beaten by a NSX. Especially since your's is black! woot!

Thanks for the good feedback. The NSX is sweet, wish they would make a new and improved version of it with some serious horsepower. I think my Z has more stock HP than a stock NSX. That just isn't right!

As for the cooling. I thought the exact same thing about cutting into the door. However, I don't want to cut the door (lame I know). I really like how it all looks on the surface to be stock. So this is what I figured out. There is about 1-2 " between the fans and the outer door. This gives enough room to at least let the fans circulate the air (they are blowing in different directions). Luckily, that area of the vehicle is not insulated well (doesn't have to be cause its a small storage area) and infact lets in quite a lot of cool air, much cooler than the rest of the cab.

It will however become an issue when the summer comes. So I have until then to figure another way to get more air in and out. Perhaps a vent and suction tube???? Thoughts???? Z owners?????

Well then... a second recommendation water cooling! Gotta love the concept. Or another thing link a tube to your ac and drag it to the computer case but that's annoying so I'd say not to.

Also about the NSX, read up on the new article on the NSX they will be releasing soon. They stated in the past the reason they didn't exceed a certain HP was because the engine became unreliable and that's one aspect they wanted to retain. The new one I believe is supposed to be very well designed.
