2005 BMW M3 CarPC......Featuring Stealth Valentine One Integration

Well, I was a bit reluctant to do this since there have been several BMW installs posted, in particular the E46 body style (which mine is of course). But I thought it turned out pretty well so I thought I would share.

First off I want to give a big shout out to Mike at Primier Autosound located here in Chesapeake, VA. He did the install of the CarPC and a few other items (pics below). He also did the finishing work on the bezel which turned out really nice, giving the car the OEM finish that I wanted.

I also want to a give a shout out to mattlocked for making the V1 interface. The V1 interface is main feature of my CarPC because it allows me to have a stealth install.

First, the hardware. Noth too earthshattering here, just some pretty common stuff:

- Xenarc 7" Touchscreen monitor
- VIA M10000 Motherboard w/512MB Ram
- M2-ATX Power supply
- Travla C138 Case modified to hold M2-ATX power supply
- Blue Tooth (USB dongle)
- iBus interface (not installed yet)
- CarPal OBD II Bluetooth Interface
- V1 Hardware/Software integration

Although not directly integrated with the CarPC, I also have the Blinder Laser Jammer installed (hint: the units are next to the licence plate)......

M3s are just damn nice cars. Only BMW I really like. I usually hate black rims too but I must say they look good on the shade of red. Very nice install. Clean and pretty much OEM looking. Only thing I might sugest is that you find some stock caret for teh sub box but if you like the contrast it looks good like that too.

Overall very nice install.

do you have wet okole seat covers in your m3?!?

Also, how is the V1 working with that unit mounted so low and partially covered?

The V1 works great. I did the same thing in my E36 M3 with the same great performance. The V1 still has a clear look out of the front of the car between the front seats. I am still able to pick up cops before I can see them (or them see me

). And yes, those are Wet Okole seat covers. Here is another pic of them......

Difficult to say so far since I have not encountered any Laser yet. I did a lot of research, including reading several reviews on system performance and the Blinder consistently came out on top. Not to mention the fact it is the best fit on my bumper.

That sub box is specifically designed to mount under the rear deck of the car. It takes advantage of existing openings and brackets already in the car. It is made by Bavarian Soundworks (BSW) who makes sub boxes for other BMW models as well.
