You're right...I don't care for how it interfaces with the frontends either. Heck...I don't like how it doesn't start tracking you when you hit the GPS button. Instead you have to click on the check box to turn on GPS, then check the box to have it rotate the map...too much and no tilted 3D view either. ug

There isn't much room to put anything down there (the depth behind that area isn't very deep below the screen). I'm actually very partial to how Gork put his in the ceiling (up by the AC controls)...so I might attempt that.

I don't really care for the wood look. I've been planning to get rid of it for some brushed aluminum or silver carbon fiber trim that they sell for my car. it'll match the day skin I use if I go with the brushed aluminum...so I will most likely go that route.

I wanted to get some of my trunk space back. I needed the extra room so I could fit something else in the trunk while I had my son's stroller in there as well.

This first box took up a lot of my trunk because I had the amp between it and the back of the rear seats (so you could only see the amp when the rear seats were down). So I redesigned it so that it is only took up half the space (but doesn't look as good) as the original. (And no...I used the same cubic feet for the actual sealed box...I just wasted a lot of extra space around it to make it look better).

To connect the sound, I used a simple stereo 3.5mm to RCA cable (it goes from my soundcard to my amps).

To get the right power off of the very jumpy 10-14v car power supply, you need to buy a decent power supply that is meant for your car. You can see the different ones in the mp3car.com store. I have the Carnetix 1900 paired with the Carnetix 3v add on. This gives me the many different voltage outputs that I required for the components.

The Sven4 works great (when you have the stock amp and speakers). But once you upgrade your system, then it's no longer needed.

A lot of people seem to like their M2's...so you should be good to go. Good luck buddy!
