Trim on
and orange gone, back to OEM
I'm pretty sad because my monitor didn't show up today, I have no clue where it is. And my laptop is sitting about 90 miles south of me right nowoh well there is always tomorrow.

Well still no sign on my monitor, I think it's stuck at the borderbut i did get my laptop and i have to say i love widescreen. I'm going to have to buy a couple widescreen monitors for my computers now. Not too much to update on so i guess i'll keep trying to find the monitor..

Well i recieved my monitor and i relized it was an older Lilliput 619 so needless to say the screen wasn't as right, but that was ok since i was having troubles with it's touchscreen also. I ended up taking the overlay off it which is in perfect condition and putting it on my "first" 619 and put that back in the dash. now after checking all my solder joints on the touchscreen controller i got it to work and will now be able to put my old overlay on the dimer monitor for my center console since i'll only use it at night![]()
I think the monitor looks good except for the outside of the touchscreen overlay.
heres how close the texture matches the OEM texture
I want to put 4 momentary buttons to give keystroke cammands so that i can change tracks and what not (might only have the 2 buttons, what do you guys think?). I'd like to place them in the shape that my hand will rest on them when i'm on the highway. And they will be semi hidden by the e-brake.
Any last but not least a shot from the rear of how everything sits as of 10 minutes ago

Thanks alot Jason
I just went on a short drive with the t-tops off and I've decided how I'm going to have the 4 switches. top: Previous Track, 2nd: Play/Pause, 3rd: Next Track, 4th: is going to be a switch that kills the ground to my screen. I hate how much my screen stands out at night when i pull up next to a car full of "innocent" people. It's either all that or i put a touchpad where the ashtray is and use gestures, but it doesn't feel as comfortable with my arm there.

Is your screen too bright? I think there are ways to automatically dim it at night, either using a program that works off the clock or using a headlight wire to trigger something.
The Alpine HU I have is real cool in that it has an actual light sensor and you can set it to AUTO and then set the bright and the dim levels. I know it doesn't help you, but it's cool, none the less.
PS, I also added a pic of the cool sunvisor CD drive to the f-body page.

I've set my Gamma so it changes automatically when it gets dark, it's just the fact that having a screen in my town like any other is screaming rob me![]()
I've always love alpine for being ahead of the game!
Thanks, I haven't seen anyone else thats done it before, not saying someone hasn't because i bet they have. Have you seen it done before?

I've decided that i'm going to hack an xbox controller to input those for buttons. I'm also going to have an extra wireless controller to use as a mouse when in the car, and a remote for standing outside the car (shows and showing off)
I downloaded a program called JoytoKey and the xbox controller driver. JoytoKey found the controller and here are the keys i'll be using on it.
JoytoKey ButtonUse
Button 1 = APlay/PauseButton 2 = BVideo ScreenButton 3 = XAudio ScreenButton 4 = YPrevious ScreenButton 5 = BlackVolume DownButton 6 = WhiteVolume UpButton 7 = StartConfig screenButton 8 = SelectMixer ScreenButton 9 = Left Pad DownLeft Mouse ClickButton 10 = Right Pad DownRight Mouse ClickButton 11 = Left TriggerPrevious Track (scroll up)Button 12 = Right TriggerNext Track (scroll down)
(This is the left joystick)
POV2:UP = Directional UpMouse upPOV2:RIGHT = Directional RightMouse RightPOV2: DOWN = Directional DownMouse DownPOV2:LEFT = Directional LeftMouse Left
(This is the directional pad)
AxisX(<0) = Left Thumb Left
AxisX(>0) = Left Thumb Right
AxisY(<0) = Left Thumb Up
AxisY(>0) = Left Thumb Down
Here are my keycodes in KeyTBL
27,"CANCEL"
33,"PGUP"
34,"PGDOWN"
2037,"RRPREV"
2039,"RRNEXT"
2070,"SEARCHLIST"
65,"PLAY"
68,"AUDIO"
83,"VIDEO"
70,"MENU;CONFIG_MENU.skin"
71,"PREVTRACK"
72,"NEXTTRACK"
74,"MIXER.skin"
I hope that your able to follow all thisThe best part is that i've been testing this with my controller hooked up to my laptop and the program will go into and come out of standby perfect.
I'm debating on what kind of buttons to use for the center console. I'm thinking about some momentary one like off of the old arcade games. Or i might end up just using the A, B, X, Y xbox buttons. I'm also thinking of making a skin that is fully controllable by a controller for ease of use for passengers in back. What do you guys think about these ideas?

I picked up my wireless xbox controller to use as a remote and i replaced my front coaxial ecipse speakers with some Cadance components that i've been meaning to put in for a long time. All i have to say is that it sounds amazing, they really hold their ground compared to a friends type r's that i was debating on putting in (it could somewhat be the cars). Heres where i mounted the tweeters thanks to Jasons advice![]()
