Would that overdrive pulley cause any stress on my alternator? I'm really thinking i want to just do a dual alt setup and not have to mess around with isolators and what-not.
I mean same brand, type, size and age. I may be wrong, that may be for dual batteries without an isolator, but I can't remember for sure. Keep in mind that a diode isolater is automatically going to use up about 1 volt, So if your alternator can put out 14v, the battery will only see 13v minus any wire or terminal resistance, so there is a down side to them as well. That 1 volt they use up gets transfered to heat, so they can get pretty hot as well.
There's a reason you don't see many people with multiple battery setups. It can be tricky and expensive to do. You'll probably need to Google some for more info.
Drew, if you swap over from the stock CS-130D alternator case to the larger CS-144 case you can get a big 235 amp output. It is physically larger, but it will bolt into the stock location. You may just have to bend the PS lines over a little. That unit from Alterstart puts out 120 amps at 800rpm. Always look for the idle output. That's key.
I also know where you can get a 32% overdrive pulley for your alternator for $23. This means more power and voltage at idle.
Here are some pics of the relocated alternator. Or for a second alternator if you want.

I got my new front components today. I'm now running Diamond m66.1m Mids, Diamond m36.1x Crossovers, and Cadence Tweeters (need to find the model) With these mids i don't have as much midbass as i did from my Cadence mids. I like how the crossovers setup the soundstage with my tweeters. I'm starting to think that along with getting another Alpine X and a nice sub amp that i want to go active all the way with hopefully either software or the c701 and h701. I'm going to do some more research about 2 and 3 way active setups and go from there.
On another note I need to get my alternator rebuilt before then and luckily i can get a deal on that too.

Dude what did you use to extend the temp control relocation. I'm piecing together a carputer for my 02 and like how you have the a/c controls and would like to emulate your setup.

That reminds me, I gathered up all the parts for the cable which took a while, but hopefully I'll get it done this weekend. Before I cut it, you want the middle entension piece about 4.5" long, right?

I'm in no hurry for the cable. I just took the plastic off from under the passengers side footwell tonight to move the vent from cold to hot. I couldn't stand not having heat anymore
I decided to finish up the beauty panel for the sub box as it's starting to get cold and i want to have my car all together for the winter. Heres what i came up with. Sorry about the Type R in there, i just got it in the mail today and i was testing it this afternoon after class, before work and never got the X put back in.
I'm thinking that I want to make a cover like this out of some grill cloth, but i'm not sure if i'll end up doing it or not. I kinda like the way it flows but i'll have to put some thought into it.
All I need to do now is rerun that speaker wire, vacuum out my car, and get some nice over all pictures for a good update (not camera phone pics).what do you guys think?
