Will they even fit in that shallow of a spot? I'd raise it to 5 or 6" if possible. Why did you decide on 4"?
Now if you have the magnets on top, then 2.5" should be fine.

No they wont fit in 4 inches the subs are 7 5/8 inches deep. The front two will be inverted while the back two will be mounted regularly. I decided on 4 inched so the box doesn't stick up really high and can be blended in with the rear hatch panels. I was worried about when i had the box split down the middle whether or not they would see the same amount of air.

    Why split the box?
Does the 2 subs up and 2 down look good?

I firgured i'd be able to make sure they saw the same amount airspace if i split it strait down the middle (one inverted, one not).

I think it'll look nice with two inverted and two not. I'm even thinking about floating the sub amps above the back two if i decide to put my rear seat back in.

Why do you want to split the box into 2 seperate chambers? Just leave it one big chamber.

so you think all 4 would see the same amount if i left it as one chamber as compared to 2?

If i leave it as one all i'll have to do is add some bracing in the middle.

Yes and I would add crossbracing in several areas to make it very stiff and rigid. That should work fine.

I've decided since i've been doing all the saving i can and trying to make some money other ways to build my new setup that'd I would start working on something that wouldn't cost much. I Extended the display off of my base scanner i have. My initial plan was to make all of this into a 1 din unit and use it to replace my processor, but i'm starting to think that i'll put it (just screen and 2 knobs) in my rear view mirror. That way i'll be able to put my alpine c701 i plan on getting (later on) in the one din spot. I might do it vise-versa (and be able to keep keypad), we shall see what happens.

It took 32 wires (four 8 foot runs of cat5) and a bit of soldering and this is what i came out with. . .the pictures (please pardon the soldering skills, yet again)
