any experiences with Planet Audio 2250D or any of their amps? I've found someone who will consider trading for my Alpine X for it. Here is a link to ampguts where it shows the actual specs on them. says it's the power acoustiks 3000d but they are the same board.

Well it looks like i will most likely make this trade tomorrow. I'm thinking I can put this amp under the box since it's 22 inches x 12 inches, with some ventilation out through the speaker grills. It'll do 1800 @ 2 ohms so that'll give me ~450 watts per sub. should be good right?

    Then I can trade my 9102d for a 7252 (locally) and have the 7202 (150x2 @ 4ohms) for my 6.5's and the 7252 (170x2 @ 4 ohms) for some midbass. I'll need to find a small amp for my tweets. . .

If this all goes ok i'll be able to go active and keep my amp rack looking the exact way it does now.

Forget all that lol. . . I'm not spending 55 to ship to Canada. Back to looking at the powerbass.

I've also found a c701 for $125 and will try to get it if my pioneer sells.

I bought my new alternator today. It's a 160 amp, it was for sale on the caraudio.com site so i picked it up for a good price. I'm thinking i'll get my stocker rebuilt and do the dual alt setup with the two.

This set me back on my budget for my amps and subs which might be a good thing since i'm thinking thru keeping my Type X and getting another or doing the 4 Type R's. I'm going to build a new box tomorrow and see which of the two i like better and go from there.

I think the Boss alternators have good output at idle, did you get any specs for it?

I got your cable cut down to length I just need to add some grease to the middle section and then clamp the cable ends. Should be ready soon. I've been super busy with my new used car, fixing leaks, cleaning, etc... plus looking for engine stuff for the TA. Buildng my new sub enclosure with the 3 JBL's is going to be a major thing. I wish I could do as much as you in a day. You move at a rocket pace.

Thanks for the update on the cable.

I really can't wait to see your sub box take shape. I'm thinking i'm going to go back over your whole f-body thread and read your ideas. I might try to see if any of your great ideas spark new ones of my own. My problem right now is that i really like the look that i have and would love to just have the two subs "in the floor" look so that it's all the way smooth back. I would also really like to go all out and put 4 R's in there and make it look crazy but clean. (which might be hard). Like i said all of this is going to depend on the output i get from the new box (it's going to be built perfect). I didn't get this box built today as i was a little upset with my car for letting me down and not getting me to class

Thanks for the kind words Jason, I'll come down and give you a hand anytime, once you get everything rolling. All i need is room and board for me and my neighbor Kyle

I've ditched the X and have decided on the 3 R's. They are going in the floor like the X was so i still have that smooth look. All i need to do is find 2 more R's and an amp that will put out ~1500 at ~2.67 ohms.

I was also thinking about just getting 2 more kenwoods (9102d's) since they've been such strong amps for me. Will those 4 amps be too much for a 160 amp alternator?

And on the note of the alternator i received it and had to send it back due to it being damaged during shipping

I finished up my scanner. But i'm not sure if i want to install it or not. I've had no drive to really do anything in my car lately. I've been doing alot of research tho and after i finish my sub setup i'm looking into doing a 3 way front setup

I've done pretty good this week and haven't changed my setup plan, it might be my final setup if i'm lucky.

(please excuse the mess. it was a very involved project, lol)

Pretty cool, but does it hurt the visability of the mirror? I use my mirrors all the time so I wouldn't want to hurt them.
