You've got a great thread going and you have inspired me to push forward with a full sized motherboard set-up. I'm planning out my set-up still yet, but this thread has helped me to confirm a few ideas I've had.
Keep up the great work!!!!
that is a very nice thread, it has helped me decide that i want black rims for sure, i'm thinking i'll go with the 5 spoke or maybe 6. 9- 9.5 inches is good, I don't need anything fancy just something that looks good. I also don't need to worry about brake clearance since i plan to be keeping the same size brakes when i put new ones on.
can you help me out with the tire sizes.
for an 18 inch rim that is 8.5 wide would it be 245/40/18
and for an 18 inch rim that is 9.8 wide would it be 275/40/18
Thanks

First, I would not get a 8.5" front rim. Most places that sell a staggered set will also sell you a matching set of 4 - 9.5"s. This is the better move.
Here are the sizes if you want to keep the same diameter.
275/40/17
275/35/18
275/30/19
Here are some links to rims. These sre mostly going tobe 19", but they usually are available in 18" as well.

Great links but i can't decide on a rim until i figure out how much tires are going to cost me, because if the tires are going to be too much i'll have to wait for a while. I just checked the tires that are on my car and they are 235 x 55 x 16 why is that?
If i want to keep it the same diameter as now it would be a:
235 x ? x 18
235 x ? x 19

The 235's are stock for V6 cars. They are just a tad taller, but typically you will want to have 25.7 inch tall tires. So the 275's I mentioned above are correct. If you want them slightly taller:
285/40/17
285/35/18
285/30/19
I researched tire prices as well, just not the 275/35/18's. I typically looked at wider tires, but swing over to Tirerack and search by size, then list them by price. They start out at $157 and there are 11 tires under $207. I've had good luck with used tires as well, just buy in pairs only.
Check out the Fuzion as well. I hear they are good.

Well i've looked thru about all the tires i can handle...the bottom line is i can't afford to do this now. I'm going to plan on buying the ones i want over the winter so i'll have them when spring comes. and who knows i may not even still have this car when that time comes (i've found a white firebird) I'm going to get my second computer up and running and get my fusion brain for it and see where i end up. Thanks alot for all the help Jason and now i know what i want when the time comes.
On a side note all of my friends (Alex) parts for his carputer should be showing up along with my slotload tomorrow so be sure to look for a 99 cougar in the worklogs within the next week. you'll be able to tell that we think alot alike and help each other with everything.
