it;s not under the seat on the floor tho (wouldnt fit). i took the seat out and mounted it to the bottom of it. there are two metal bars under the seat. the laptop slides perfectly into the middle one. i have the cd drive + pcmcia port facing the front of the seat, so i can reach down and swap cd's etc

nice - i shoulda done that for a cleaner install - might have to look into it sometime down the line... taking the seat out looked like a PITA

How snug is that fit for the laptop? I'm still in the planning phases of my carPC and I have canadian heated leather RSX-S seats in my Civic. How big is the laptop??

sorry, i never measured it. it's an inspiron 5150 with the screen removed. it's a snug fit, but it's easy to position it.

if you're going to mount it under your seat, might as well remove the screen to prevent it from getting damaged.

nice instal...i just got into to this after seeing a few pictures. i was interested in how you still kept your HU. can you post some brighter pictures of it?

hey man, i'm doing my carputer in my '02 rsx right now, and was going to put the head unit in that exact same place. can you post more detailed pics of how it's angled, where you cut etc..really glad i saw this!

Take a look at my worklog, I have pics of my rsx sterio relocation witht he cover still on. I'm not sure if u have a us or canadian RSX, mines canadian so I mounted the setio under the heater seats, if you don't have buttons there you can mount the sterio above. When you take off the plastic cover on your cig lighter cover you'll see 2 singel din looking slots you can slide a singel din with little dremeling

I am using CaveLive. Works really well and does everything I need without being super heavy.

Cavelive, I have never heard of it. Where would I get it from? In your first post you say you are using RR, did you decide to change over to cavelive?
