Well I would not want a TV in my stock civic. That would just drive up the price! It is a base model, so no bling factory is good in my book!

That's why it was sooooo cheap!

haha yep, radioshack standard toggle switch.

ya i was very pleased when I initially started measuring and found that a 7" screen had very similar dimensions to the double din opening in the factory radio bezel.

yep civics are pretty cheap. and so far for the price it seems worth it. the car does more than what I would expect for the price I paid. HOWEVER......this is my first front wheel drive vehicle, and to be honest, it will also be my last. whoever decided (likely due to economics) to make "sportyish" cars to be FWD should, IMHO, be kicked in the balls. (no offense, it could have just as easily been a woman too, in which case maybe just pushed into a puddle) Don't get me wrong, the car, with the manual trans, is fun to drive......but it would be infinitly more fun to drive if it were rear wheel drive. I would have easily paid another $5000 to get one with rear wheel drive. And I highly doubt it would have cost that much per car to offer that option.

sorry, i don't really want to get into a debate with anyone about FWD vs RWD.....i'm just venting my frustration after seeing a couple people doing donuts in the snow with their trucks. although i must admit that the E-brake is more fun than nothing at all!

with that mechanical engineering know-how you should be able to swap in an F22C1 and rock your socks at 9000rpm.

I have owned AWD and FWD cars, and I don't really car about the speed, but my civic can crawl up my monsterous hill (multi-thousand foot elevation change) with a huge ice coverings much better than any RWD car. Of course AWD is superior, and I would have paid $5000 extra for AWD. There was one point where I considered adding AWD to it, but I never figured out how. That and my gas mileage would go down the pooper!

haha ya, I have enjoyed filling the gas tank completely while spending $24 lately.....

ya AWD would have been fun too. at least with AWD you can get the whole car sliding sideways! if you figure out a way to do it, for less than $5000, I'm in as well!

Well I asked, and it seems that it would be possible, but not practical:

so the concensus so far is this: they don't really have any experience saying it is for sure NOT possible....but they would all guess it would cost more than just buying a subaru.

There is a glimer of hope reguarding the 1980's awd civic wagons......but it would likely require heavy modifications.
