It is just a boot screen.

You can change it by modifying the boot exe.

where can i get the info for that boot screen change process?

Basically download ResHack (freeware)

Then make a backup of your ntoskrnl.exe file in %sys32%

Make a 16 colour (4bit) image and save it.

Open ResHack, import the ntoskrnl.exe file, replace the boot image. Usually under folder 5 with the title 1033 for XP Pro. Import your image over the old one. XP Home uses a different file, but it will be self explanatory at that point.

Then save the exe somewhere easy like root c:

Boot into safe mode w/ command prompt, or better yet get a 98SE boot floppy and copy your boot kernel over the old one. Voila a custom image.
