Looks like I'm going to go with the Logitech diNovo Mini Wirless Keyboard to replace my current keyboard and mouse:

Great Choice. I've had a chance to play with one and it's a totally slick device. has all the features that will really make it thrive in a carputer environment. Personally, I'm going to use one with my media PC, but using it with a carputer was one of the first things that came to mind as a started to play with it.
FWIW, the wall charger that comes with it is 8v, 500ma. I'd imagine there'd be some way to adapt that to work in a car environment, but otherwise, I'm sure you could do up an inverter.
I know a couple people @ Logitech and I'm going to put in a plug for them to make a 12v car charger for it.![]()
That would be awesome. I have an inverter in the car. As a matter of fact, it was responsible for draining my brand new Braille Battery last month... Grrrrr...

Hey LinuxRacr,
I have a Mazda MP3 as well and just put a carpc in the glovebox. I was thinking of getting that braille battery after reading your post here. Do you have a picture of the battery installed? I'm trying to visualize how the lower height battery will fit in the engine bay there.
Thanks. That little dinovo looks sweet too.
Did you ever get rid of the ground loop issue?
If not, does it change with the engine speed? Try turning things on a nd off to see if the sound changes (ie: fan, etc).
Where are you drawing power from? I think I saw above you were direct to and from the battery?
Where do you have the system grounded to and how?
Cheers
