About Roadrunner

The RoadRunner Project started on November 21st, 2004 under its former name "REMedia Car". At first, the main author (Guino) only wanted to "fix up" a few screens of MediaCar and add just a few features. For legal reasons (and for obvious complications of integration of the new code with MediaCar's "closed" code), it was decided that a whole new software should be written from scratch, while still supporting the existing MediaCar skins.

The software was first made available on January 22nd, 2005 -- along with the source code as an invitation for other users to help/participate on the project. The support, help and ideas of the community have contributed to make Road Runner the most popular CarPC/Carputer Front-End available.
