Basically GPS tracking software is a client/server set of software that enables you to track your vehicle via the internet using your GPS Receiver. You install some software that uses any active internet connection your carpc has to send some data to a server to log your latitude and longitude at a set duration. Some of these tracking programs have web interfaces so anyone (that has your permission) can view the current location, speed, and direction of your vehicle. This can be very useful if your car gets stolen and the theft doesn't know about your carpc's tracking capability. Another feature some of these tracking programs offer is a buddy system, your carpc can show you were your "buddies" are currently located if they are using the same GPS tracking software as you. This of course has to be all preconfigured...Look at the resources below to get a better understanding of this topic.
