So what messages does windows send your window when you do a restore? Could you then manually send those messages using the SendMessage API?
I would go get spy++ out and see whats going on.

Awesome Merc, but can you make them semi-transparent (just like the ones above, but with a transparent background instead of the blue or silver)?
I tried to do PNG alpha-transparencies in PhotoShop but I couldn't figure out how to. I made my semi-transparent buttons by cutting out a small square from a PNG that had alpha-transparency and repeatedly pasting it on my image (after I had made my image fully transparent behind the buttons).
I want it to look like the buttons are transparent glass with a smooth but reflective surface. The bevel-ing in the top two buttons is awesome (and would look even better on "glass"). Even if you could just replace all hue's of blue with transparency in the buttons above, I would be incredibly grateful.

I also kinda like the metal fame around the glass. I would be very happy with my current style if my buttons just had a better done "brushed aluminum" frame, better done "glass" center of the button, and the text in semi-transparent "etched-glass" (done with a glass bevel instead of a solid color).
...but I really like the style of the top buttons you made if it were just transparent (could I get a framed-glass [my style] and an un-framed glass [your style] - LOL).
Anyway, thanks!!! I'm still having trouble with re-painting the SkinLayer component, so no rush need for any graphics yet.Sorry for the delays everyone. I have been working on the same problem every night all week with no success. At least I got it drawing PNGs now instead of BMPs (but it didn't fix the problem as I had hoped). Hopefully V3 will be released early next week. I'm so close once I fix this one re-paint bug. V3 will support PNGs with alpha-transparency support now, and I want to show what it can do in the base-skin.
Hey PD, I just looked up spy++ having never heard of it before. It's some VisualC++ tool? I can't find a way to download it (though I saw some screen-shots and it looks like a big help). SKINbedder is written in Delphi I do not have a copy of VisualStudio.
spy++ is included with visual studio![]()

That's what I'd expected you to do with the second image.I tried to do PNG alpha-transparencies in PhotoShop but I couldn't figure out how to. Try the buttons in your program, but tonight I'll see if I can make 'em even more like glass.I want it to look like the buttons are transparent glass with a smooth but reflective surface. The bevel-ing in the top two buttons is awesome (and would look even better on "glass"). No problem - will do tonight....but I really like the style of the top buttons you made if it were just transparent (could I get a framed-glass [my style] and an un-framed glass [your style] - LOL).
That's the spirit!I want to show what it can do in the base-skin.![]()

Nice! I am using IE and it shows the transparent part as gray. I just downloaded and opened in photoshop. Excellent! Thanks again. Sorry for the confusion.
PS: Can I get your PSD's so I can easily change the text (or is it not that easy)?
It's that easy if you can navigate through my confusing layers.![]()
