Unfortunatly, until I fix my repaint bug, the left buttons will 1-second fade from the above to this one below every time the map repaints its self. (ignore the overlaped right buttons... that's just a work in progress)
Almost ready for release (though I do have to draw the buttons on a timer ). Currently working on OSK (LOL). Anybody want to volunteer to do a semi-transparent OSK with a "frame" around the the textbox (and code to co-ordinate ini too :P)?
...if you want I should be able to make the white part of the text box transparent so you could make your own background for that too (even a semi-transparent background). I like the thought of that... the black text written on a semi-transparent "glass" background with all the OSK buttons in semi-transparent "glass".
Here's the INI so far (sample co-ordinates are in a row... they are not correct for my OSK).
Oh, and the functions we need are:
0-9, A-Z, Backspace, Space, Search, Ok, Cancel, List-Item-Up, List-Item-Down, and: . , / '
Correct me if im wrong, but the map can't update while the OSK menu is visible anyway, so why do you need it transparent? Just for good looks?

In a full-screen application (such as a nav-map or a video player), I never want to see sub-menus covering things up (even if the map/video is "paused"). Everything should be a transparent overlay. That might just be my preference though.
IMHO i say take it or leave it either is fine theres always v3.99999999999999999
Well, I don't know how to make it much easier. There is a single up graphic and a single down graphic per "SkinLayer" that can have multiple buttons. You still have to define all of the button co-ordinates within each SkinLayer, but you now position the SkinLayers with the 4 borders same as you do for embedded windows. You could try using Visual Designer (found on this board) to make it easier. All of the above images have 2 SkinLayers, one with Left_Border=0 and one with Right_Border=0. The 4 button co-ordinates are the same for each side. Check out the ini-file I posted above to see how it all works.
If you have any suggestions of how I could make skinning easier, I'm all ears.
sounds like visual designer it isOriginally Posted by RPM_VR4
im just bad with coords at least i thought i was with the last version it would always change when windowed vs full screen and it drove me crazy
Hehe... I think the new system will work better. You just align the SkinLayers using 0, 1, or 2 of the four boarder variables and then the co-ordinates for all the buttons within that SkinLayer are always fixed.
iG OSK, posted here so mercury7 can see it when creating a SKIN.
This doesnt work integrated into Frodo does it? Only for use in Centrafuse??
