btw, mt vote goes to the classic keyboard style. While transparency is a nice effect, I always find the background very distracting.
just subscribe to this thread and you'll be able to keep up on what's going on with very little effort.

I vote for #3. Most readable in any situation. Great job!!!!
EDIT: #1 is a definite no-no... those diagonals are really distracting!!!

I really want a boarder around the text-entry part too. Maybe have the background be a semi-transparent square, but more transparent than the keys. Then, the background would fade in to non-transparent white in a 1cm or 1/4 inch boarder around the text-entry part to create a frame for it. This may be a good compromise for those that think transparent is too distracting (just make none of it completely transparent, but still keep a semi-transparent background with the keys even less semi-transparent).
RPM, I didn't completely understand what you were talking about. But here's a new version anyway.
If you still want me to move the search button, I will, but I don't think it should go next to the 'Z'.
Tell me where I can put transparency, because I'd like to see a little more than there is with this version.

Well, here it is with the search next to the 'Z'. And, it doesn't look that bad after all.![]()

I also switched the 'OK' and and 'Cancel' buttons and trimmed some of the excess background off. Let me know if you want it to stay that way.

I'm not that picky. Either of the above look great to me. Feel free to change the colors around too if you like, I didn't really think about the ones I chose too much, I just like color-coded groups (the arrows could have a non-black color too though).
Now for the transparancy, I'd give the background a 20% alpha blend (mostly transparent) and the buttons a 65% alpha-blend (less than half-transparent).
Okay, the background is at 55% and the buttons are at 77%. What do ya think?

Looks good to me.
Unless there are requests from others... (???)
...post the transparent PNG and I will start making the ini file for it.
