    Skinbedder and RR closing problems

    First off, great program. I used iGLaunch, couldn't get iGSkinner working, and thought I had Skinbedder working. maybe it's operator error....

    i have RR setup to use skinbedder as the GPS app. When i click on the gps button, skinbedder open IG nicely; no menus, buttons on left side, everything looks great. however, when i hibernate and reopen the gps, i can see the satelites, but no info. closing out of the GPS window and reopening it used to fix the problem. however, i now get an error message (which also embeds nicely, FYI). If i exit RR completely, i have skinbedder in the task bar. do i have to configure RR to close skinbedder?

    did i miss a setting to wakeup the BT serial connection in skinbedder?

    I don't have much experience with RR or Hibernation. Hopefully someone else will help you out.

    Sb won't close it self when you exit RR, but I thought RR did automatically close all embedded apps. If it doesn't, then yeah, script it.

    Sb is generic for any app, therefore there is not and will never be a "setting" to wake up BT. However, you can have Sb run an auto-it script after resuming from hibernation and that script could wake up the BT if you know how to do that.

    I'm not sure if any of this made an sense to you, but I don't really know what else to say to help. Good luck, and feel free to ask more questions.

    I think it's a GPS BT issue more than skinbedder. Seems to work now. I just keep it running in the background and switch to it whenever I need it. Are there any examples of auto it scripts to "wake up" a BT connection?

    I don't know what you mean by "Wake-Up" the BT connection. If you know how to do it manually, then you can use an Auto-It script that will change focus to a window and send it keystrokes/mouse-clicks so that you can automate it.

    well, one way i do it is walk to the back of the car, open the trunk and power it on. doubt auto-it will do that!

    the BT GPS apparently times out after 10min of no communication with the pc. if I have it tethered as a serial mouse, and i resume from hibernation this is what happens:

    1) IG displays a message that the GPS isn't connected
    2) I click on OK
    3) about 8-10 seconds later, the GPS updates (provided the unit has been powered on before hibernation resumes)

    can an auto-it script be written to push the "OK" button when it resumes? do i need to know the window name that has the "OK" in it?

    Yes... actually SKINbedder alone can do that. You can find the window name using the Auto-It window tool. Then you can either make SKINbedder embed the window and send enter (see the iGNag stuff for a very similar example), or just have auto-it send enter to the window without bothering to embed it.
