    Start application

Does anyone know how to start an application, for example gps proxy when windows start? I search and tried placing a shortcut in the startup folder but it only starts the app, it is not started. What I mean is if we place a winamp shortcut in startup folder it will start winamp but it does not play any songs. Have to put a play list in and songs will be played. How can I do this for GPS proxy?

Usually autoit can help, but in some cases it cant. In that case, you might need to right an application using API calls and put that alond with the gps program in the startup folder...

API is the system windows uses for everything. When you right click some program in the task bar, that is a command. When you click close from the menu that is a command.

So you need to find the handle of the window, which is a 32bit int (obviously only on 32bit systems), and then the command like "SendMessage" from the user32.dll, and then the argument of "Push button".

    Can get really complicated.

    Easier yes.

There are quite a few autoit scripts floating around the forum, and you might be able to learn by example. Basically if there is a keyboard shortcut to do what you want it to do, then really easy. If there is a menu item, then easier. If not, then you are pretty much SOL.
