Plenty of work to do P?
Well, it gives me good hope to know that -eA works!

Luc,
I maybe asking alot of you here so please be directwhat I could do with initially to get -eA working is a method of selecting the desired input (i.e. CD input) and adjusting the amp volume independent of CPCTuner that can be controlled via RR.
Is that something you could do please?
Edited to add: It just occurred to me that RR needs to know to talk to the -eA and not the sound cardI'm not sure if this is doable?

Damn I just bought the HQCT -e hope the detection issue is easy to solved as I should have it by next week.
New Car PC Build list in progress
How direct would you want me to be as I saw just a minute ago that you ordered a Silabs USB dongle?
Don't worry, I'm not gonna blame you for anything. I also have a Silabs radio but never used it in my car, tests indoors proved to me that I could save myself the trouble of soldering a coax to the thing. Now you can also compare HQCT with Silabs in a while and you can draw your own conclusions then.
The interface part in CPCTuner is changed on PaulKaye's request, he's building a plugin for RR to use for all HQCT functions including switching audio sources, full sound control like volume, bass, treble, balance and fader change and more. Only thing is that it's been a while since we had contact, I need to send hime an email to see how he's doing and if he made any progress lately. I still need to do some testing/debugging on the subject, the code is already implemented but is not stable yet.
Regards,
Luc
Give up?!!!!
I bought the first parts for my carputer on ebay two years ago and my car is getting older by the decade :-)
Heh
I plumped for the Silabs cos I'm driving around 2,500KM per month with no audio and only my only company and it's driving me bonkers.
It'd be great to get the HQCT running at some point seeing what it cost me and it's size and packaging is great which means it's easier to tuck away!
I tested my mac and external SB Live hooked up to my Genesis amp and was very happy with the result, no noise at all. Just some weird noise from the SB Live until the drivers load. The genesis amp doesn't fit in the small spaces that the HQCT can tho.
Be great to see some software support for the -eA soon
Carl
Understand what you're problem is, I'll see what I can do to get the -eA and RR back on track again and to put radio in your car. My second problem (apart from a shortage of time) is that since I changed jobs I also have a new (company) car with no car-PC installed, this is why I also need to do a completely new build. This means that I have radio (pre-installed) in my car but no PC. We need to organize a poll to see what is worst.
And about my first install it wasn't even finished before I had to take it out of the car. But this gives me the opportunity to start again, avoiding all the mistakes I made in the first install.
Cheers,
Luc
