Hey, Putput - Great work! I don't see a place to turn the amplifier on for the HQCT-eA. Is that an option you could add or were thinking of adding?

Forgot to tell you, if you look at the bottom of the screen shot, there's a button HQCT-A: this will open a second form containing all the HQCT-A settings/options.
Hi,
I am not sure if I should post this question here, but I am not sure if I should invest in the HQCT or the Silabs version.
I am in Sydney Australia and not sure if these will work well here in downunder land. I mainly listen to AM while driving in the morning to work for traffic updates and stuff like that, so will this HQCT be an overkill for my use?
I see Putput has done some awesome work, well done champ and keep it up.
Does anyone in Australia have this HQCT and can they confirm how well it performs?
(BTW if anyone is thinking of parting with these, send me a PM)
Cheers

Hi Kosti,
How is live down under? All ok I hope?
First of all, thanks for the credit!
Second, if you want a decent FM/AM receiver for your carPC then HQCT is never overkill. It is constructed with normal car radio tuners components thus making it a normal HU with an abnormal interface (USB). And further more it has AM support and the Silabs thing does not support AM. The Silabs 4701 chip only supports FM/RDS and nothing more. And because you want/need AM the Silabs dongle is not an option I think. Of course HQCT is more expensive and needs apart from the USB connection power and an analog audio connection but if these arguments are not an issue then I believe that HQCT is the perfect solution for you.
Best regards,
Putput
Hi Jurgen,
Sorry to tell you that I cannot help with RR problems but I think that RR (in default skin) automatically switches to AM when you enter a frequency in the AM range. Try to enter 650 instead of 95.7 or something, that should do the trick. And if you have troubles with the skin you can try CPCTuner (link in the first post of this thread) and replace the RRHQCT.EXE file delivered with CPCTuner by this one. It shows no splash and/or form unless of course you have a HQCT-A, then you need to use RRHQCT from Datalex for a few more days. Check the readme file for installation instructions.

Putput
Thanks for the info Putput.
Now to find a decent priced re-seller as sadly mp3store is a little rich on there pricing.
Now I don't suppose xtronic want to ship me one for trial purposes ?

Hi Dave,
Hold your horses! I'm still working on the settings screen, the current version doesn't have this yet. I'm hoping to get the next version ready before the end of next week.

Luc
PS I got your email, sorry for not responding any sooner, working very hard on HQCT software (and my family).
