    My Layout

This is the layout I've been working on, made on DesktopX. (The look is not definite).

The side buttons will be transparent with an icon image. On mouse over they will extend and reveal the program name, once clicked (or touched) it will execute the command.

The center logo is the Isuzu badge for those that dont know.

Resolution is at 800 x 480 for the Xenarc display. I still need to play w/ Powerstrip. (hopefully my screen arrives soon!)

    Suggestions and/or comments welcome.

I have been using DesktopX for my interface. It is alot easier than mucking about with VB or C++ and I have all of the functionality I need.

    Here is a shot:

There are several more versions and shots here.

Funny thing is I havent bought mine yet. LOL. Im trying to get a 2000 Rodeo in silver or black and I can only find them in every other color at the car auction. So me patiently waits.

Hey Richone nice toolbar interface with the red orbs.

Yeah, the orbs were cool, but were too small to use. I needed a bigger target to hit while driving...easily changed using DesktopX though.

Could you change that logo to a Subie logo and the color scheme to blue? I'd REALLY like to have that for my Xenarc. I thought about doing a new desktop in LiteStep but your's looks pretty close to what I wanted to do.

Now, does Desktop X run on Windows, or is it a Linux thing?

DektopX runs on Windows 98-XP. It runs on XP best IMHO.

Fanstastic! I was considering running LiteStep on my carputer, but bad experiences with ME made me reconsider. I've used LiteStep to great success on 95, but I didn't want to run 95 on the carputer. Here's my solution!

Check wincustomize.com for tons of good DesktopX themes that you might start with...

Most of my theme was done in PhotoShop with different layers for the different components.

Where'd you find the logo for Isuzu? I've been thinking of looking for a good version of the Jeep Logo.

I'll have to play with Desktop X maybe see if I can make something (though I have very little artistic talent).
