^ BUMP ^
I have included a screenshot of your skin which I modifed (nice skin by the way) and was wondering if you could help me out here. I am having trouble finding out just what to modify to get the thinger icons as well as the volume bar to match the rest of the interface. Any help would greatly appreciated.
Wow... no one?
Anyways I think I have it figured out. Arby has all of the xml in one file (player.xml) and therefore doesn't have the option of changing the colors of the thinger enviorment (thinger.xml). Does this sound right?
On that note I'm designing a new full screen skin based on Arby's. Not a blatant rip off, more like a step-child =).
Arby.. don't say I didn't tell ya! And winamp skinning for beginners is a b!(@h!!!
Well, Im not sure what settings you would want, but look at player.xml, look at the <gammaset id="Default"/> grouping. Tweak the handful of lines following it changing the three numbers following each setting:
Before using his skin as a base for yours (simply changing colors), I would talk to him about it and tell him your plans. Ill say this, Im working on my own full screen... I dont use touch screen so I want more info shown instead of functioning buttons. Ill put a screenshot and a link to mine in the next day or so.Code:<gammagroup id="volbar" value="100,-1000,-5000"/> <gammagroup id="button" value="0,0,0"/> <gammagroup id="buttontext" value="0,0,0"/> <gammagroup id="Thinger icons" value="2000,00,-5000"/> <gammagroup id="background" value="0,0,0"/> <gammagroup id="lightbackground" value="1000,1000,1000"/> <gammagroup id="Text" value="-5000,-5000,-1000" />
Talk to the people over at the Winamp Forums. They are eager to help those that are actually making their own attempt at it without asking the very simple questions. Good luck...

Heres a screenie and link of my fullscreen Winamp3 skin. Please tell me what you think or what else I need, etc. I still have some work to do but thought I would get some opinions.
Hope I get some (good or bad) feedback on this.
[edit] removed download link... something must be wrong, Ill figure it out.[/edit]

I like it. Doesn't suit my needs/color scheme though, but that's what's great about this. With a little work we can have exactly what suits us. It's all about personalization.
I assume you meant to edit these values right?Originally posted by grandamp3
Code:<gammagroup id="buttontext" value="0,0,0"/>Code:<gammagroup id="background" value="0,0,0"/>
No dice, I assumed the 0,0,0 were hex values for the color but it changes nothing.
I'll head over to winamp.com now. Thanks!
sorry I haven't seen this yet.
Gammagroups aren't like rgb colors
0,0,0 means "leave the images alone"
1000,0,0 means "increase the red in the images"
etc.
the numbers can be positive or negative, and will add or remove that color from the image.
and yes, to change the volbar/thinger colors, edit the gammagroup settings.
Also, as soon as the next verison of winamp3 comes out, my skin will have a little control panel that will allow you to set the colors from within winamp3.
Seriously nice work!Originally posted by grandamp3

In terms of constructive comments:
It's not apparent from the screenshot how the volume bar behaves?
What sort of screen you running? I like the playlist editor thingy in the bottom, although if you're running non-VGA, I guess it would be hard to read? I'm looking forward to Winamp fixing that little issue.

Well, I cant take all the credit for the skin. I did the the design, etc. but for the maki scripts to put the album cover and the playlist editor in the main window, I had some help from a guy over at winamp forums. As far as the volume thing, the grey is the volume level and the red is just a background. The Grand aMP3 logo is just simply laying over both of them. Ill probably have it that you can put a similar logo if one desires. I still need some work (mainly graphics,etc.).
But as far as what screen Im using, right now I dont have an LCD screen in my car. My project is on hold while I pay a few bills. Probably January Im going to do my system up completely. I plan on using a scan converter from vga to rca. The resolution though is 640x480. Hopefully it wont turn out looking bad. If anyone can test this skin on a 7" screen and let me know how it looks, I would greatly appreciate it.
