I was wondering what everyone thought about Ubuntu Mobile Edition -->

It seems like it would make for a good front end if we could get it to work. It may take some command line configuring, but maybe some Linux experts (and everyone) can chime in on this and offer their thoughts on the possibility of using Ubuntu Mobile Edition as our front end.

I doubt it'll boot instantly because it'll need to go through the post and load the OS. But as for the UMPC's (which is Ubuntu Mobile's target) I have no idea how long the boot will be.
Everything on that product page of Ubuntu Mobile fits perfectly for carPC's especially GPS/
The screen shots look good, but we'll have to wait until October for a full release.
Has anyone tried it and would like to share his results?
