set media player 6.4 to start playing in XP
I am using Windows Media Player 6.4 to play most of my DivX movies because it has good support for subtitle. Under XP, when I double click on a video file, it loads Windows Media Player 6.4 but it's in either stop or pause. Is there something I can do to make it start playing when I start the media player??

Check out media player classic. It totally owns media player and is designed to run under xp. Anyone who likes media player 6.4 must have this! Tons of great features. -tv tuner, svcd, realmedia, captions, dvd, playlists, pan&scan, capturing, more...

Here's a list of the command line switches for media player:

The attached jpg shows file type settings needed to open a file and automatically play. You can get to these settings via:
START->Accessories->Windows Explorer->Tools->Folder Options->File Types
Both 'play' and 'open' have the same command line.

Under Win95, 98, ME, 2000, NT, Media Player 6.4 starts playing when you double click a video file. XP starts the program in stop mode. I need to set it to play mode.
