Go ahead and get the remote for WHATEVER set you use. In my experience it will save you tons of headache. The great thing about it is, with a keypad, its quite constrictive and has to stay pretty much in the same spot. With a remote, you can shove it in a cubby hole or something. I would suggest at least looking at http://www.evation.com for their irman. Costs about $35 if memory serves right but it can use just about any remote you can toss at it.

i agree.. remote is the way to go. My experience with a touch screen is they are bad while driving. You are always looking down to make a song change and such. With a remote you can pretty much do it without taking your eyes off the road.

Media Engine is touchscreen / keyboard / remote compatible. Give it a shot. Its free, and the source code is available as well.

What would make it hard to test? You just program your keys you want, and then its ready to go.

I think what he meant is that since he doesnt have a buddy with one laying around or theres not one at the local office max, he cant just play around with it first and see if he likes it. So therefore he has to go ahead and breakdown to buy it. Then once he gets it he can test it all he wants.

Stavros, also once you get it, if you dont like it for your car setup, you can use it to control your home pc. You can use it to switch music like you would in your car, but also can be used with many dvd software packages and plus you can use girder software to use it to control ALMOST ANYTHING your lil heart desires.
