A few questions about drivers...

A little background:

I'm running some amplifiers that have built in monitoring capabilities.

Things like a digital serial number, voltage meters, temp sensors, fan control, etc.

The thing is, it's kind of like a beta thing from this company. At one point in time I had some drivers that worked. Then I formatted my hard drive and got new drivers...but they don't work.

I'm wondering if anyone on here knows how to write drivers....I'm sure someone does.

And if that someone might be willing to take a look to see if they can get these things to work?

My only question is...do you have to have access to the hardware at the same time to do this?

The amplifiers have RJ-11 ports on them, there is a hub that has a bunch of RJ-11 ports on it to plug the amplifiers into. This hub then plugs into a computer via USB.

Typically you'd either need the hardware or a definite protocol.

Even then it would be untested, because a lot of times when you THINK your protocol works perfectly, youll get an unexpected response and it'll mess your whole program up.

Or maybe that's just me and Im a bad programmer? But I think my work is pretty high-standard...

That's what I'm figuring.

I might just have to contact the company directly in Italy for these...and beg and plead with them to give me a working driver.
