    Xport question!

I was having alot of issues with my GPS and I decided to use Xport to fix the issue, but I have a question about it. When i start my PC, the PC will make the sound as though a USB device is being disconnected then reconnected, is that the Xport doing that? What I have done is change the sound to a much lighter sound so it isnt so noticable, but I would like to know if its the Xport. If, yes, how did you guys get around this issue?

Xport does have the ability to disconnect and reconnect USB devices in a similar manner to Devcon. It's a feature to assist the GPS receiver to come back properly from hibernation. By default it shouldn't be enabled. If in doubt, you're best off tracking down the developer of Xport, Curiosity.

I turn all windows sounds off so that I don't have to listen to any of those sounds.

I did the same thing.... but with me having so many devices, it makes me nervous. What I will do is disconnect all devices and work that way.... all i will leave is the GPS plugged in... if it does do it then its the GPS. Like you said all I have to do is 100% disable the sounds... but I wont feel comfortable till the system is all worked out.

I understand, USB devices are real flaky sometimes. I have a rotary controller that stopped working suddenly a week or so ago. I moved the plug to another port on my hub and bang, it started working again.

LMFAO..... Well I think I fried a port on my USB 2.0 card. I plugged a wi-fi into it and I started to smell burning, then Windows said i had a surge. No matter what i plug into that port it gives me a surge warning. Oh well I have 16 other USB ports
