    Compact Flash Boot problems

    I recently got a 2.5 inch ide to cf adapter and a Sandisk ultra II 4gb CF. The laptop does not recognize the CF as being a hard drive. I found out that I have to make the card 'fixed'. I installed the CF into the 2.5" slot, got the sandisk utility, booted to a dos CD, and tried to use ATCFWCHG /F /P and it shot back error #20. I am out of ideas, please help.

    if i use norton ghost could I get it to work without changing fixed/removable options?

    Not all CF cards can be made "fixed". I don't know about the one you have. Search this site or google because you are on the right track if it can be done with the card you have.

    I have a Sandisk Ultra II, pretty common flash drive. I would think there would be more information on this
