    getting car model.

I'm not sure if its possible,
but do ECU's hold information about the car?
    e.g. make, model,

I had a look here, but I can't see anything that might give me these details.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OBD-II_PIDs

I have an app. that i've written and its working with basic PIDs, just looking to expand on it.

    cheers in advance
    Dave

You can get the VIN number through OBD-II. From there you can decode the VIN number to get all that information. Search google for "vin decoder". There are lots of free online decoders and you might find a downloadable decoder too. There is also lots of information available on the VIN number structure so you could build a decoder yourself.
