Now that would get annoying very quickly
"Good Morning Michael"
"Which criminals are we going to catch today, Michael?"
Years ago, I read something about making your pc speak to you when it boots. It would either say "Good Morning" or "Good afternoon" depending on the pc's clock. If I remember correctly, it was a small software package that allowed the user to customize the greating to anything they desired. I was in my car the other day and I thought it would be nice to hear a welcoming greating as I drive to work. But, for the life of me, I cant seem to find it anymore.
Any thoughts on this?

I don't know about in windows but, in any *nix OS you can have scripts run at the end of the boot/login process and assuming your OS has built in speech functions (that are scriptable) you could easily do it yourself.

My parents had a New Yorker that spoke and after a couple of weeks my dad had it turned off. Short story right, wrong. The battery died and after a new battery the VOICE returned and the mech. said the computer would allow him to disable it. Why I don't know. Bright side six months NEW CAR! Anyway just watch what you wish for.![]()
this post is month old but i know how you can do it as not sure if you found out yet.. go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio click tab sounds and scroll to Start windows and replace the sound with anything you want. i use a friends voice usually female and then use other software to get it to sound sexy or whatever.
Thanks, I'll give it a try. I haven't done much with this in a while. Working on other components. I'll let you know how it works out for me. By the way, what does yours say??
