I have looked on the internet and found people with the eepc's or the Samsung UMPC.
I don't know if this will be an issue any longer because the new version that comes out with intrepid might fix it.
I want to install Ubuntu mobile on my project carpc.
I downloaded the image from: http://people.ubuntu.com/~ogra/mobile/
I imaged it to a
- 2 gb thumb drive (FAT 32)
- cd
Both methods I try results to "boot error"
(BIOS IS CORRECT)
I have loaded other OS's and it runs nicely.
MOBO: Intel BLKD945GCLF2
The only thing that I been able to find is help on UMPC's is Ubuntu Mobile ONLY available on those? No, that wouldn't be very Linux now would it?

you could always install stock ubuntu and then install the "ubuntu-mobile" package. It's basically the same thing.

I got that from another ubuntu mobile thread
Have you all checked out the latest release of eeeubuntu 8.04.1 ?
http://www.ubuntu-eee.com/
its got the "netbook remix" interface
Simply follow this tutorial
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MobileTeam/M...o/ImageWriting
Get a 1gb + usb key
Basically Download the latest Image
go into ubuntu or whatever linux distro you've got and type the following into the terminal
sudo dd if=/path/to/your/downloaded.img of=/dev/device/you/saw/in/dmesg bs=1024
Now that usb key is bootable, if your bios supports boot from usb. THen you can install it or run it from the usb key.
Now someone please!!! tell me how to get the touchkit driver to work with this distribution!!! I've been spending all day on it. It does come with its own touch screen driver, but i does not work at all.
hey I finally got it for some strange reason it wouldn't load the image on one of my 2 gb flash drives but shot right on a 1gig
Thanks to you I have it installed now.
I am also having a bit of trouble with my touch screen.
I have it installed also, but not without a few problems. Have you looked into the touchscreen problem anymore? Mine is inverted and its not centered, if that makes sense. I really like all of the functionality and the interface, but i dont know what is going to be done about media players. Right now it uses rhythmbox and it is not very touchscreen friendly.
That's what nghost is for...Right now it uses rhythmbox and it is not very touchscreen friendly.
What driver are you using for the TS? or just usbtouchscreen that is built in?
