DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His support sucks, and it doesn't work with RR as he states. Just go for mitch's. I finally bit the bullet and gave up on it. Just baught a cable from Mitch
Hope it helps
Hi all,
I have been lurking on this forum for quite some time now, and reading it even longer. Still doing research and planning my next car PC install. I'm not big on being spoon-fed (would rather look things up and do them myself, thank you), so I don't really need to post much until I actually start building. But I've searched for awhile now about HD radio interfaces, and can't find any substantial amount of information on anything except mitchjs' offerings... Does anyone have good or bad experience with this application:
http://www.hd-radiopc.com/
It looks very similar to mitchjs' cable and software, but no one seems to be running it right now. My gut tells me there are only a couple of possibilities:
1. Mitch's stuff is so good that no one has bothered to look or find anything else.
2. The above link is a scam or rip-off
Any and all replies/feedback are appreciated!

1. Your correct, Mitch's stuff is so good, and others dont know what they are doing. I bought a XM cable from some other company and it ended up catching fire and destroying my XM Direct. I then bought a new XM Direct and Mitch's cable and have had no issues since. Also, Mitch is very active in the CarPC market, he does tons of testing with fellow CarPC users to make sure his stuff is compatiable with just about everything. When I bought his USB line Selector, he actually built a plugin so I can use it with CF. Now all CF users get to benefit from this device.
From what I understand from scanning the RR side of the forums, is that Mitch's HD Radio cable has a circuit board on the inside, which need to be there to allow the HD radio to work, and I think to work with things like RR and what not. Alot of these other guys dont put that chip in, so it doesnt work well or at all. Just because his cable looks like Mitch's cable, doesnt mean it is like Mitch's cable. Thats like when you buy a car, say for example a Mustang, one will have power everything and a nice V-8, but the other is all manual with a V-6. Mostly the same looks on the outside, but diffrent and improved on the inside.

That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for, thanks! I'm still in the planning/research phase but hope to start buying parts and building early next year. A work log will be up soon...
If I remember reading the forum a while back correctly, his stuff is a ripoff from Mitch.
Giving the support and the willingness of Mitch to work with this community, I'll buy from Mitch without 2nd thought. Yes I did get one cable from Mitch and it's still in the package for almost a year![]()

the Circuitry doesn't really make a difference. Its the support for the plugin that mitch made, the other guy didn't do anything nor is he proactive. The other guy from what i read stole from mitch. So mitch modified it so it would only work with his cable with the electronics in it. i would have done the same.
Yep. It's posted in the long *** HD cables thread.
Seriously tho, with all the development and contribution mitch has made to integrating a viable radio solution, why not just support his efforts?

I have bought from mitch and when I had a prob. Mitch was there. I have his HD radio cable and the usb audio selector. Both work great and if I had to do it over YES I would do it again. AND as someone else said mitch is an active member here. He has also done some work on RR and is always available. The funniest part of it all is Mitch doesn't own a carputer. I hope that you will buy from Mitch if for no other reason than he is a supporter of the community.![]()
Oh i just did, I didn't find Mitch's cable until after I bought from this guy, Just baught the cable and its on the way Can't wait Thanks Mitch~!!!!!!!!
