    BlueTooth on PC

This morning I spend half an hour trying to copy a few pictures from my phone to my car PC so that I could email them. And I had to give up. Have you been there?

I cannot understand why BT works so bad on a PC.

I have all in all bought and tried out 5 different BT radios and drivers over the years.

I want it to use handsfree gateway, serial com, hid, and filetransfer. Automativally. No pairing. No crashes. Not having to "add BT device" again and again.

What is so difficult? I have a logitec keyboard on its own BT dongle and it is superstable!

When I search this forum I find nothing useful on BT. Is this because people have given up, or its just me having problems?

If there is a BT device that works 100% please tell me! As long as it is less than 200 I will bye it immidiately!!

    (I have a SonyEricsson K800i)

I don't know that much about BT on the PC but from all the threads I have read, it seems to be the BT stack (software) rather than the actual devices, although some of them do not follow the standards very well, either.

Blue Soleil is often mentioned as a leading solution. It may be worth looking in to.

I use Bluesoleil software and belkin bluetooth in car pc it all works great but I am using a nokia n75.

My Linux boxes use an el-cheap O Ebay bluetooth devices and it all works great.

My winXP desktop also uses the el-cheap O bluetooth devices and Bluesoleil software I have no problems.

The bigger issue is probably the software stack, the microsoft stack does not fully support the available services as well as the Bluesoleil stack.

I looked through a few of the SonyEriccson forums and it seems to be hit or miss.

I would say it is probably just the bluetooth stack that is causing you all the trouble.

It is easy peasy to me. Just click bluetooth and connect then drag-n-drop files to the bluetooth folder on the phone and they popup on the PC in the shared bluetooth folder. done.

Thanks guys for comforting me :-)

I use a widcomm/broadcomm driven device because I think that is the only one that will support freefone headset gateway. The radio is a Msi starkey

Have that changed? Can I get headset gateway (car mic and speaker) with bluesoleil?

At this point Msi is leaning totaly on winXP to provide driver as the only thing downloadable from their site is a pdf install instruction. And Broadcom state they only support developers. So I cannot get a new driver from somewhere else than windowsupdate.

So why do not my dongle work properly then, one might ask?... And am I stuck with windows BT stack?

Next step a new radio with bluesoleil?

download a trial of blue soleil there's a pretty good chance it will work with your device.

I bought myself a Deltaco BT-108 with BlueSoleil 5 driver. 13€!! It has certainly been some water under the bridge since I gave up on BT last time. Now I see there is also a version 6 that has more features.

I must say the driver is much more stable. But I have not found how to make PC act as headset to phone. I've sent the question to BlueSoleil but no answer as yet.

I am tempted to download the SDk and try to make my own dedicated driver...

I have gotten both BS 6.4 and Widcomm to act as a hands free phone for my LG Dare, I can't find a way to make caller ID work, or phone book, or SMS.

Did you do as BlueSoleil answered to my question, bemenaker?

BLUESOLEIL: > Right click the icon of bluesoleil in the notification area->My Device Properties->change the Device Type from PC to “Headset”

I cannot test if it works as I do not get BS to work with freephone at all. FreePhone will not connect. I have seen posts where people desperately have tried to get confirmation that BlueSoleil is not supported by FreePhone but no answer. (I do not know why it shouldn't, but still. I have got it to work with BroadComM (unstable) but not with BlueSoleil)

This seems like a project by itself. I will have to wait until everything else in my system is sorted.
