    ACPI.SYS error-- tried everything

Recently, my computer crashed and failed to reboot. The computer was on during a drive like usual and suddenly the music starts skipping. Then the computer crashed. When i tried to reboot, it gave me an 0x7e error with ACPI.SYS. I tried changing the RAM and using a desktop power supply to no avail. I googled for hours but cannot seem to find an answer. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Something is corrupt.
It could be motherboard drivers that are damaged, preventing Windows form communicating with the power control functions of the motherboard.
It could also be Windoze files corrupt. You might be able to resolve this by reinstalling the most recent Windoze service pack. You might also need to reinstall Windoze from teh ground up.

I never was around New Orleans, but I was willing t make the trip.
Oddly enough, I've moved (again) and am closer to NOLA than I ever have been.
    Go figure.
