    Offtopic: speed of languages on windows and Linux platforms

    I was pointed this out by a c# dude. I was shocked to see how well java ran on Linux (faster than mono by a lot). I was also shocked to see how things ran faster on Linux than they did on windows. Even c++ code...

    It's not too surprising. Linux is often more efficient than Windows (though not always). Though it also depends on how the system is set up, I wonder if it's just a default install or if the person tuned it at all. And Java can be incredibly fast.
