i have a 2.0ghz AMD sempron, 2gb of ram and a 32gb SSD. it would boot up in 12secs.

trying to get it to hibernate was another "issue' it was very tempermental
somethings it would hibernate in one 2secs and bootback up in 3.
other times it will just freeze in i have to force it off

i have to figure out wut the problem is.

P4 and AMD Athlon XP systems that I have, with a fresh install of
Windows XP SP3, will do the 25 to 35 second boot time, but the
second you add antivirus and firewall its over a minute to minute
and a half, I gave up on internet in my car because of that.

I've been checking out the prices of 7,200 rpm 2.5" hd's and most of them seem to be SATA.
Also the SATA ones are alot cheaper then IDE
Right now I have ide connector piece that allows me to plug in my 2.5" 40pin ide drive into my regular IDE cable.

One option I'm thinking of is getting a sata drive and getting a new sata/ide converter

or a sata card...(Space is a big concern as it's mounted in the trunk)

doesn't seem worth buying a 7200 rpm IDE drive (with 100gb or less) when I can get a 250+ gb 7200 rpm sata drive for the same price...

    just thinking out loud
