Yes, they all reference the technology providing that information which is on board diagnostics.
Is there an app out there that runs on a touch screen that can tell you your MPH, Oil Pressure, etc etc?

Sorry I am new to this, are you talking like centrafuse? I thought that was just a skin that sat on XP.
Any further reading, or a list of apps that can do this would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Do you have an OBD-II reader? You'll need that first.
It's my keyboard. It's possessed!
lol,
No I lack both of those tools. Any good place to read up on them? Or any recommendations on them?
The mp3car store has the OBDpro. Honestly I don't know what the difference is between them all. Any of them would work just for basic monitoring. It just needs to support whatever protocol you car uses.
Pretty much any vehicle made after 1990 has a compute chip inside that reads and sends out its diagnostic data on the fly. It's all sent out to the on board diagnostics port which is usually in the footwell under the steering wheel. You need to buy an OBD reader for about $100 and plug it into this port, then plug it into your computer. Then download some software to display the information. Done.

Here in the ol US OBD-II is 1996 and later. You may find some 1995 OBD-II spec vehicles, but that can't really be counted on. Pre OBD-II and you get into a lot of weird proprietary stuff (weird connectors, etc) and I wouldn't count on being able to harvest much information from OBD-I.
